LiD Trainer is an offline exam-preparation app for the German "Leben in Deutschland" citizenship test. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what choices you have. In short: your exam progress never leaves your device, and the only data sent anywhere is what's needed to show ads and to respond if you contact us.
LiD Trainer does not require an account, login, or registration of any kind. There is no server-side user profile — the app works fully offline once installed, using a question bank bundled with the app and stored in a local database on your device.
Two things in the app do involve the internet: showing ads (so the app can be free), and two optional features — reporting a question and the contact form — that send a message to the developer if and only if you choose to use them.
The following stays on your device, in the app's local storage, and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of this data, since it is never backed up to any server.
LiD Trainer shows banner and occasional interstitial ads through Google's AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK), which is how the app stays free. AdMob and its partners may collect information such as your advertising identifier, general device information, and approximate location, in order to serve and measure ads.
If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, you'll be shown a consent screen (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before any personalized ad data collection, and you can change your choice at any time from your device's ad settings.
This processing is governed by Google's own policies, not LiD Trainer's: Google Privacy Policy · Google Ads Consent
Two in-app features send information to the developer's inbox — only when you actively use them:
When you tap the flag icon on an exam question to report an error, the app sends:
When you submit the contact form in Settings, the app sends:
Neither feature collects anything automatically beyond what's listed above — no location, no device identifiers, no browsing history.
On launch, the app checks a public file on GitHub to see if a newer version of the question bank is available, and downloads it if so. This request doesn't include or transmit any personal information — it's the same request for every installation.
Local data (history, favorites, settings) is deleted the moment you uninstall the app. Messages sent via the report or contact features are retained in the developer's email inbox only as long as needed to address them; email us (below) to request deletion of a message you've sent.
LiD Trainer is intended for people preparing for the German citizenship exam and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you're in the EU/EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection rights, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any information you've sent us via the report or contact features, and you may withdraw ad-personalization consent at any time from your device settings. Contact us using the details below to exercise any of these rights.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same page with a new effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the update.
